When did we get Constitution Day? Why do we need a day set aside to celebrate the Constitution as if it were an irrelevant piece of history that was no relevancy in our lives?
Every day is Constitution Day, not just the seventeenth day of September. Sure, the Constitution was ratified today in 1789 but I never remember there being a Constitution Day before this year. Is it a thing now because the Constitution is being ignored by the President and Congress alike? Or is it because we are finally waking up as a nation and beginning to realize that the protections afforded under the Constitution have been eroded and trashed while we sat on the sidelines and allowed it to happen because we were fearful?
I am proud of the Constitution our Founding Fathers and Mothers worked and sacrificed to forge for the future of our new country. It is a document to be celebrated but it is more than that, it is the highest law in the land.and we need to remember that every day of the year, not just today,
