Audible currently as the Christmas sale in full swing and I made a couple of purchases in addition to my monthly credits. As some of you know, I’m not a huge fan of either Amazon or Kindle but yesterday I succumbed to temptation and couldn’t resist a couple of very good deals. I will also admit as of this posting, I am extremely tempted by a deal today as well but more on that later.
One of the best authors of suspense fiction out there today, Robert Crais novels always make me slightly jumpy but I’m always highly engrossed in the story. Can’t ask for more than that from any author!
So yesterday morning started off just fine and then my twitter feed exploded, well I exaggerate slightly, with people tweeting the Kindle deal of the day for Warcraft books at just a $1.99 per book. I hopped over and sure enough, there they were a selection of Warcraft books expanding the lore and I hadn’t read any of them. I admit, I gave into temptation and went on a mini-shopping spree and so here are yesterday’s kindle book purchases.
Christie Golden wrote a beautiful and emotional impactful story for the release of Mists of Pandaria last year. I am looking forward to her depiction of Thrall and possibly gaining a deeper respect, although that is highly doubtful, for the Horde.
This books takes place in the same time frame as Thrall, only it involves the leaders of the Alliance. If any of you regularly read my gaming blog then you will understand my interest in this title since it takes place in the affected areas of Darkshore and Ashenvale.
This missing Jack Daniels series book was a steal at only $.99, I mean honestly who can resist books at that low price, especially when it is part of a series and you’ve missed this entry into the series?
This is the latest J.A. Konrath addition to the Jack Daniels series. I’m going to hold off on devouring it until I can get the two books I haven’t read since Fuzzy Navel and the release of this title, Cherry Bomb and Shot of Tequila.
I also picked up a couple of books being offered for free. I know nothing about either the books or the authors, but hey for the price they were worth the stab in the dark.
This little gem appeared when I logged into my Kindle app to download the other books. You know I can’t resist Agatha Christie and I don’t think I’ve ever read this one. I also freely admit, it is the book I started as soon as the download was complete.
I wake up to discover that one of my husband’s favorite author’s has one of today’s daily deals on Amazon. I’m actually interested in reading the title, so it may just end up being added to the Kindle reading app today.
I found Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy amusing but not fantastic. It is one of my goals to reread it next year because I have a sneaking suspicion I will enjoy it much more now. Hubby can quote Hitchhiker’s Guide at the drop of a hat and my brother loved it growing up.
I’m still reading book two of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and enjoying it immensely. I find that I need something less esoteric sometimes just to clear my brain from all the immense details and history in Tolkien’s works. But that being said, my fascination with all things Tolkien and C.S. Lewis grows daily.
