What happens when you combine the worst migraine of your life with a couple of nights of poor sleep proceeding it? The migraine from hell happens.
Literally, wiped me out for five days. I was stuck on the sofa, neck pillow, pain meds, and more frozen vegetables and berries than I care to recall. Seriously I don’t think I could have survived without my darling husband waiting on me hand and foot making sure I didn’t fall apart completely.
Life is returning to normal finally and I’ve swapped out pillows so that I can prevent the perfect storm from ever forming again. I hated not being able to do much of anything other than sit there. I couldn’t even read a damn book because my neck was just so stiff and angry at me that movement was impossible. Thankfully, all normal functionality has been returned and life is back to normal, hectic and chaotic just the way I like it.
While I was incapacitated on the sofa, hubby assembled our new bicycles. He received a Kent Shogun Rock Mountain bike as a claimed reward from work and I got a Huffy Deluxe Cruiser. Pictures of both, above and below, taken in the living room where they were assembled.
Now, I haven’t ridden a bike is thirty years and i freely admit I’m intimidated by the prospect. I’m no longer a spring chicken and the bike is tall. It is the upper limit of how big a bicycle should be for a short person like myself and this I’m on tippy toes when my butt touches the seat. Now, with that being said I am looking forward to taking the bicycle out for a spin. I’m prepared to fall and suffer but let’s be honest, it’s beautiful and I want to go for a bike ride when the weather is just a wee bit cooler. Besides look at it, it is stunning and so me! I love that it came with a basket and a cup holder for my water bottle.
Hubby’s is far too masculine and utilitarian for my tastes. He jumped on it yesterday afternoon and had the biggest smile on his face. That alone excuses the ugly look of his bike because he looks so good riding it and is so happy.
A quick note on the shipment of the bikes, mine was delivered via Amazon and came without so much of a scratch or dent. Hubby’s arrived with scratches to the paint, a couple of dings, and loose bits. On shipment alone, I’ll reorder my bike again long before I think about purchasing another bike from Kent.
