Between the never ending fiasco that is federally mandated health insurance and stupid public debate on issues like smoking in public, I swear becoming a hermit is sounding more and more attractive all the time.
Since Obamacare began to take affect our corporate health insurance has increased in cost dramatically every year, covered less, and cost us significantly more out of pocket. Our health insurance comes for a Fortune 100 company, so I can imagine how hard it is slamming families and individuals that work for smaller business. It is a disaster all around and it needs to be repealed and ALL Americans and corporations need to issued immediate exemptions for 2014 and beyond.
As for banning smoking in public? Seriously? Do Americans comprehend that they are the only nation on earth that is so fanatical in eradicating smoking? I’m not a smoker, I never have been. And yet I feel for those that do smoke. We, as a collective country, treat smokers like the greatest evil doers on the planet. We ignore true problems of the country in favor slamming and penalizing smokers for a legal activity. We ignore childhood hunger, homeless, families in crisis, but by golly, lets make it illegal for smokers to smoke outside in public! How can any sane, rational, thinking citizen think smoking is more of an issue than a hungry child?
Our priorities are so screwed up. I wish I could find a cave somewhere in the world with all the amenities of home and none of crap …
