There they are, the lovely glasses that arrived yesterday afternoon. I can actually SEE things. I pulled out needlework when I tried on the glasses yesterday afternoon and the first thing out of my mouth was “I CAN SEE HOLES!” I can only imagine the absolute and utter joy on my face. I didn’t need a magnifier, the fabric wasn’t mere inches from my face, I could clearly see all the frogging ahead of me.
I got home and I’ve been able to reduce the font on my Nook and no longer feel like the little old lady who only sees a 50% of her world clearly. And I can clearly read the WordPress app clearly without squinting for the first time. The bifocals are a little weird, I’ll admit that. Looking out of the corner of my eye makes things slightly blurry, something I’m sure I will get used to over time. It is just disconcerting when the center of the screen is clear and the outer edges are blurred.
The frogging begins today. We are taking another weekend off. After last week’s bout with heartburn I managed to pull the muscles in my right side badly and have spent all week doing the bare minimum. It is MUCH better now (yawning is no longer incredibly painful) but I’m giving myself off until Monday to not risk pulling any muscle that is still healing. Monday will be an incredibly busy day however. House needs to be cleaned, yoga needs to be restarted again, and writing needs to occur. Stitching will have to be Monday evening. It is a good thing we are celebrating Mum’s birthday on Sunday night instead of Monday proper. My mum-in-law’s birthday was this week and we sent her a money tree plant.
The plant looks great in her front window and the snow outside is lovely. I miss weather but I’m self-aware enough to admit that unless yoga magically makes my knees happier campers over the next year, living in snow is most likely not an option ever again. I will have the lovely pictures of snow from my in-laws to admire.
Off for more coffee and then let the frogging begin!
