Shelfari is an awesome site for readers to connect with one another and to discover new books to add to the ever growing pile of Mount TBR (to be read)! Unfortunately, I can’t add the visual widget to my blog using wordpress but I refuse to go back to blogger after the mess blogger caused while we were on vacation last year. So instead, I’ve added my shelfari page as a link on the side under blogs I follow. Not the perfect solution but hey it’s a solution. LOL I’ve just started adding books to my bookcase in the last twelve hours so it not truly representative yet but somehow I think by the end of the weekend it will much more closely resemble the books I’ve read and have yet to read.
I’m sitting here working on blogs and drinking coffee and I decided to paint my nails. Yesterday while out shopping I picked up two new colors, Ivy League and Blizzard Blue by Sally Hansen. I alternated colors and so now my fingernails look like the ocean. I never fails to amaze me that during summer we all feel free to go wild with nail polish and the rest of the year are so constrained with our color choices. I might have to make a concerted effort to be more colorful in my polish choices for the coming year. I mean after all think of the possibilities, purple and orange on Halloween, the color of fall leaves in autumn, green and red or silver and blue for the holidays, the color combinations are endless!
I am thinking about trying to make donuts from scratch this weekend. I miss the luxury of having a Dunkin’ Donuts around ever corner, like New England does. If I decide to attempt donuts, I need to determine if I am going to make cake donuts or yeast donuts, fry them or bake them, and toppings. Who ever thought that donuts could be so complicated? If I successfully make donuts, I’ll post them on the food blog since it will be a HUGE deal for me. I’ve learned I have a long way to go to perfect, no make that MAKE, a decent bagel so I’m leery of trying donuts and disappointing myself greatly. Someday I will make a decent bagel, not bagel bread, a proper bagel. I am also thinking of making pretzels this weekend, in fact I’m supposed to bring the bread for Sunday dinner this week and I’m think that maybe I’ll bring pretzels.
