I took a break from blogging to go on vacation in October and returned home shell shocked from a truly disappointing trip. It wasn’t what we wanted it to be and it wasn’t uplifting or relaxing. It was hot, humid, miserable, and we couldn’t wait to get home. In all honesty, the trip and then the holidays sucked the life out of me. I lost myself in WOW for a couple of months but that soon lost it’s appeal (there is no need to beat the dead horse WOW has become).
Lately, the urge to writing has been strong and so I made some blogging decisions. I had previously maintained several blogs which compartmentalized interests and hobbies but became very time consuming to maintain. And honestly there are many other things I would rather spend my time on then maintaining three personal blogs, one business blog, and one married life blog! I have incorporated all of the other personal blogs into this one, except one. The one left out there floating can’t be automatically imported and so it is going to be a little more difficult but I will get it incorporated today. The business blog I’m undecided about truth be told, chances are high that it gets scrapped entirely. I’ve made one entry into that blog which tells you just how motivated I was to maintain it to begin with!
Yesterday I started the blogging process again with my niece. DH has long been after me to write a cookbook and I’ve gotten the recipes pulled but I haven’t been focused enough to commit the time without a recipe tester. Lately, our niece has expressed an interest in cooking and she has agreed to test the recipes. They live outside of Houston, TX so we are starting a blog dedicated to that endeavor together. I haven’t touched the blog yet today but I plan to get started on it this evening if possible.
The goal is to maintain three blogs total at least a couple of times a week, which will leave me plenty of time to write, cook, and stitch. I should even leave me time to play the occasional video game or two on the Xbox. I also need to finish the last Harry Potter book this week. I will undoubtedly spend one day this week reading it from cover to cover, the weather is warm here and not so brutally hot that sitting out back to read will be miserable for a couple of hours. Hmmm, morning coffee and Potter … tomorrow morning sounds perfect!
I have multiple personal stitch WIPs (works in progress) silently screaming at me, and two pieces I’m stitching for Mum. If I don’t start stitching again soon she’ll kick my booty all over town. I’ve made progress, small admittedly, on both pieces for her. The first piece is just giving me counting nightmares – literally, no matter what the count on that piece is ALWAYS off by at least five. The other piece, the count is fine thankfully. It’s just a bear to admit that my eyesight doesn’t like small count fabric anymore. I need to go get an update eye prescription this year I’m sure. LOL
