>I love my life, but I gotta tell ya it sometimes is truly a bummer not to be 21 any more! LOL Now let me explain. I somehow twisted my back over the weekend and for the first time it is not just recovering over night with sleep and a hot shower. Today is Wednesday and I can already tell I’m spending another day on the heating pad. It may not be as constant as yesterday but it will be used. Honestly, who knew that turning 40 would suddenly make your body crumble like a cookie? Oh well, other than my back being sore I have no complaints about turning 40 in August.
DH is still working crazy hours and a lot of overtime. Hopefully they will be able to wrap things up by week’s end and he can sleep most of the weekend. It is funny, he works from home 100% of the time and yet, I’ve missed him greatly the last week or so while he’s been working crazy hours. It will all return to normal in the next week or so which means I’m not complaining just making an observation.
On a completely different note, I was reading the Hip Homemaker Blog last night when I couldn’t sleep and came across a very important posting. Did you know that expired coupons can still be used by military families for up to six months past their expiration date on base? I did not know this and will never again throw away expired coupons, all of the information on where to send the coupons can be found here. What a great way to help families that already sacrifice so much by doing something so simple.
A similiar topic for all of you living in the metro Phoenix area, did you know that our local food banks are devoid of food? St. Vincent de Paul’s has been forced to close their doors because there is no food on the shelf to feed hungry families and St. Mary’s food bank in dangerously low on supplies. I am emptying my pantry shelves today of food items that I know DH and I won’t use anytime in the next six months. We have also committed to picking up staples at the grocery store over the weekend and delivering them to St. Vincent’s. We are blessed and there is absolutely no reason that we cannot share with others who are going through more difficult times.
And now for a complaint about Blogger … why or why isn’t there a feature that allows you to post pictures separate from a blog post????? Yes I know all about Picasa and it doesn’t work for what I need. How can I point to this site and tell DH and family and friends that my wish list of items is there when I cannot post the pictures of the wish list items? I’m truly frustrated and am not going to have to keep one of the other blogs active just to keep my wish list active. I am still searching to see if there is one site that meets all of my requirements without having to set up my own website, because let’s face it I don’t have the best track record when it comes to posting regularly enough to justify that expense … YET!
Has this ever happened to any of you … You make something for dinner and it tastes great to yo your but your family hates it? It happens to me rarely but it does happen. However, it has happened twice in three days for me and that has never happened before!!! Either my taste buds are off or DH’s taste buds are nutty because he’s sleep deprived. I’m voting for the later. My Greek inspired casserole Sunday was fabulous and I am still baffled as to why he hated it. Last night he hated the Hawaiian inspired stir fry recipe I tried from http://www.allrecipes.com/. I will say this much, the stir fry was a little sweet but it wasn’t awful. Luckily, the bird loves both meals DH hated and thus feeding the bird this week will be simple! I’m going for the easy meal tonight, taco salad. Healthy, familiar, and easy should mean that both of us will be satisfied and there won’t be any funny looks while eating.
